Which includes dodging bullets bouncing off overhead rocks in Southern California; motorcycling to Panama; boating along England’s canals; chatting with Jacques Chirac, soon to become the President of France (1995-2007); publishing well over 100 books and three newspapers; losing his shirt; owning a transportation service; dinners at Maxim’s in Paris; bowls of rice in back streets of Guangzhou; from dishwasher to magazine photographer in two years; picturing a 17-year-old $ 20 model who became Marilyn Monroe; enjoying romance in Switzerland and wondering where a wife of five months spent the evening; coping with the simultaneous death of three friends; designing and building a do-it-yourself home; waking one morning unable to speak clearly when Lymes hit; being lost in jungles of southern Mexico and found on the streets of New York; valuing a government education on an island commanded by an Admiral; honoring the CIA request for a special report; conferencing at Interpol offices in Paris; declining a bribe followed by weeks of a comforting 24-hour police escort; driving from Alaska to Brazil; producing documentary videos and never really having a steady job for nearly 60 years.
